Community Calendar Stay Out of Jail |
In 1930, George A. Smith moved his family into the large house and converted it into a funeral home and family residence. The final major renovation done by the Smiths added a brick facade across the front changing the look from a residential house to a business front. At this time the Smith family no longer lived in the funeral home. however, the basic structure of the mansion built in 1902 was unaltered. When Mr. James E. Wolfe, Jr. acquired the building in 2000 he made relatively few changes, and the inside of the beautiful home again takes on the warmth and elegance of a turn-of-the-century structure.

The West Tennessee Cultural Heritage Association Museum is located inside the Wolfe Enterprises Center which was the historic Edenton-Smith house, originally constructed in 1902 by J.C. Edenton as a magnificent family residence for the wholesale grocer's family. Artifacts found in the attic which were original to the Edenton family are on display in the W.T.C.H.A. Museum.
